Senior Managed Care Analyst-Full time

General Responsibilities  

The Senior Managed Care Analyst reports to and supports the Manager of Managed Care in fulfilling all managed care activities as assigned for the RHMs supported by the Managed Care department.  This position is responsible for utilizing the Decision Support System, Meditech and SMS Patient Accounting Systems as well as other systems as necessary to pull timely and accurate data used to support the functions of the managed care department.  This position is responsible to prepare detailed and summary models used to support managed care contract negotiations.  Additionally, this position is responsible for payer-specific reporting and analysis of healthcare industry trends including the impact of government regulations.  This position will perform routine and special payment audits to ensure payer compliance with contract provisions.  The Senior Managed Care Analysts will complete special projects as directed.  The Senior Managed Care Analyst will strive to improve all work-related skills, adhere to all department and corporate policies and act in a professional and courteous manner when representing the department both internally and externally.  This position will work cooperatively with and support other analysts within the department.

Basic Qualifications

Education and Training:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or other Business-related field;o Associate's degree (or equivalent) and currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or other Business-related, IT or health administration field 


Data extraction and spreadsheet analysis
Working in a team environment
Analyzing data and solving problems
Extract data from hospital financial systems
Effectively use Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Access and Word
Communicate effectively, orally and in writing
Prepare analysis of reports suitable for submission to senior leadership (free of errors, etc.)
Assist other team members with report writing skills and other skills
Work well independently, with minimal supervision, as well as in a team environment
Remain flexible and support team members
Review data and raise appropriate questions and highlight significant findings
Develop close relationships with internal and external clients to foster a positive working environment
Resolve conflict with composure and professionalism
Maintain a high level of accuracy when reviewing data and performing tasks
Review data for consistency and reasonableness
Check data to other  sources
Function independently with minimal oversight and direction
Display high level of accountability
Learn and utilize MediTract contract management system to gather contract information.
Work mulitple projects simulatenously and remain flexible with changing priorities


Two years of healthcare finance or other related experience
Experience with decision  support systems and/or other hospital finance systems used to extract data (preferred)
If no Bachelor's degree then must have Five years healthcare finance or other related experience
Experience with decision support systems (preferred)
