RN Infection Control Specialist

Our Lady of Mercy Life Center in Guilderland, NY has an opportunity to work in a skilled nursing facility offering candidates a way to develop and strengthen their nursing skills!  The team is looking for a RN to work full time days and are willing to help train those that are looking to pursue a new and rewarding area of nursing!

Divided into four units of 40 residents each, four private rooms and 18 semiprivate rooms, Our Lady strives to maintain the intimacy of a homelike setting. To help foster a sense of community and friendship among the residents, each unit has its own distinctively decorated dining room.

The Infection Control Specialist is responsible for the development and monitoring infection control and coordination of the Medicare/PPS Program at Our Lady of Mercy.  In addition, the incumbent is the key resource to nursing staff regarding MDS accuracy.   

Minimum Requirements:

  • Valid NYS LPN license
  • Associate’s degree in nursing
  • 3 years + of experience as a RN
  • 2 + years of experience in a skilled nursing facility in a clinical setting
  • MDS certification

Preferred Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing
  • Maintain the highest level of customer service while completing day to day duties and responsibilities
  • Communicate effectively in a fast pace work environment and interdepartmentally
  • Engage within a team setting
  • Leadership and mentorship of the LPN and C.N.A staff
  • Passion to learn, grow and develop in the nursing field
