Risk Manager Boise Full Time

Investigates Occurrence Report events and identifies major trending patterns. Analyzes allegations of claims and complaints and corresponding documentation. Interviews employees, patients, families, and physicians for details of events. Documents chronological summaries of events and researches processes in a clinical/legal perspective. Participates in the legal strategy with the Risk Management team.

  • SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Must be licensed in the State of Idaho as a Registered Nurse as defined by the Idaho State Board of Nursing.
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred. 
  • Minimum of three years of nursing experience required.
  • Ability to ascertain clinical course of patient from documentation.
  • Able to demonstrate knowledge of standards pertaining to nursing care. Intermediate / advanced computer skills with an emphasis on MS Word & Excel.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal & written

  • ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Organization's Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions. 
  • Assists in the administration of the incident reporting system. Coordinates and completes the investigation of all serious adverse events, including Sentinel Events.
  • Coordinates the completion of the Root Cause Analysis process.
  • Oversees and tracks the implementation of corrective action plans resulting from the Root Cause Analysis process.
  • Collaborates with Performance Improvement and Patient Safety in all serious adverse events and associated corrective action plans.
  • Maintains and revises relevant Risk Management policies as needed.
  • Assists the director and other Risk Management staff in the triage and assessment of day-to-day risk management issues.
