Physician Practice Manager-Oncology

General Responsibilities  

This is administrative and technical work at the supervisory level, responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations of a Physician Practice at a single site (location).  Accountable for ensuring that the scheduling, patient registration/reception, clinical care, and patient check-out/discharge processes are completed in a professional manner in accordance with established protocol. Responsibility for practice operations, including employee scheduling and development, Information Systems, physician scheduling, maintenance of medical records and files, and quality management are significant aspects of the work. This position is also responsible for office billing and collections, purchasing supplies, and managing expenses. 

Basic Qualifications

Education and Training: High School Diploma/equivalent.  Bachelor's degree preferred

Certification and Licensure 

Skills: CPT and ICD9/10 codes
Keyboarding and data entry
Customer service
Leading and motivating others
Organizing work, maintaining accurate records, and paying attention to details
Implement organizational changes, including advancing technology usage
Use Microsoft Office, send and receive e-mail, and navigate the Internet
Communicate effectively orally and in writing
Prepare a budget
Analyze and interpret revenue cycle metrics
Lead/collaborate with others to meet multiple deadlines
Work in a fast-paced environment
Function well in a team environment
Work well with physicians
Apply advanced knowledge of CPT and ICD9/10 codes to investigate billing and insurance issues

Experience: Six years of medical practice office management experience, which includes experience with revenue cycle management and regulatory requirements for practices
