Nutritional Service Aide - Cafeteria


  • Under the supervision of the Nutritional Services Retail Sales Manager or Nutritional Services

    Retail Sales Coordinator, assists in the service of all menu items as needed.


·Demonstrates ability to serve food using proper utensils and portion control standards

            in a courteous and professional manner

  • Demonstrates effective customer relations skills. Displays a positive, upbeat attitude;

    smiles and insures fast, accurate, polite and courteous service to all guests

  • Maintains proper levels of supplies such as coffee, cups, condiments and silverware to

    ensure adequate service

  • Adheres to infection control and food handling procedures as outlined in department standards
  • Recognizes the importance of proper food storage, food handling and personal hygiene.

    Ensures that food storage temperatures are adequate. Knows proper temperatures and safety

    compliance with city, county and state laws

  • Demonstrates ability to safely operate equipment related to position; reports maintenance

    needs and malfunctions to Manager or Coordinator

  • Recognizes the importance of good attendance and promptness and strives to minimize absences and tardiness
  • Exhibits a commitment to teamwork and a positive attitude when change is needed. Willingly

    accepts job assignments and changes in routines as deemed necessary for efficient operation

    of department

  • Consistently recognizes and demonstrates the ability to stay on task and work independently

    without frequent supervision or direction of duties

  • Practices safe food handling and food storage to prevent cross contamination


  • High school diploma or GED. Previous food service experience preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills


  • Medium work; requires continual and repetitive motions including lifting, bending, stooping,

    twisting, prolonged walking and standing
