Data and Reporting Analyst - Specialty Pharmacy

POSITION PURPOSE- located in Fort Wayne, Indiana

The Data & Reporting Analyst is responsible for providing operational Data Management and Reporting for the Trinity Health Specialty Pharmacy. The position will manage and analyze Specialty Pharmacy data, perform analytics related to performance of the SP as well as various patient therapy and outcome measures. This role also coordinates automated delivery of data reporting to external stakeholders and managing new or changing data requirements from stakeholders.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Trinity Health Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions. Serves as the primary resource responsible for fulfilling data requests made of the Specialty Pharmacy by internal or external stakeholders. Creates scripted data cleansing, schema building and both visualizations and data files through a variety of methods (i.e. SQL queries, data-joining, programming) from various internal and external databases. Monitors daily FTP reports; reviews for accuracy, and updates accordingly. Maintains efficient QA processes to ensure the accuracy and quality of data and accurate use of source systems supporting data accuracy. Designs, implements, and maintains processes for the storage, security and reporting of Specialty Pharmacy metrics in collaboration with Trinity Information Systems according to their standards. Incorporates advanced visualizations of data for presentations to make an impactful and memorable storytelling. Identifies new sources of data and methods to improve data collection, analysis, and reporting. Monitors databases and stored procedures to identify and resolve performance issues. Maintains data dictionaries. Assists in preparing basic analyses for various projects, including business plans supporting new or expanded services and/or facility and equipment acquisitions. Participates in quality program initiatives and improvement activities. Ensures departmental compliance with all regulatory requirements, including HIPAA/HITECH. Performs other responsibilities as assigned by Management. Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, Trinity Health’s Organizational Integrity Program, Standards of Conduct, as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical, and professional behavior.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Must possess a comprehensive knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry or specialty pharmacy and data management and analytics, as normally obtained through a Bachelor of Science in business, healthcare, technology, finance or related degree and 3-5 years of data management and analytics experience. General knowledge of pharmacy and healthcare laws and regulations. Ability to serve as a role model, leader and visionary for the success of the SP. Engages in appropriate self-directed continuing professional development. Analytical skills to handle reasonably complex situations from both the micro and macro level perspective.  Uses professionally recognized techniques when standard protocols are not available; must be practically applied in innovative ways.  Must rely on judgment to gather information from and follow-up with various outside sources; considers broad range of issues/factors.  Recommends creative resolutions and improvements. Project management skills considering all the aspects of planning, organizing and coordinating the projects with stakeholders. Written and verbal communication skills to interpret and/or discuss technical or sensitive information with internal and external customers.   Discretion in deciding what and how to communicate.  Oral presentation skills to maximize the impact of thoughts transmitted.  Garners support of others and builds effective working relationships. Ability to explain things to both a technical and non-technical audience. Ability to work alone and also within a team.

Must be able to set and organize own work priorities, and adapt to them as they change frequently.  Must be able to work concurrently on a variety of tasks/projects in an environment that may be stressful with individuals having diverse personalities and work styles.  Must possess the ability to comply with Trinity Health policies and procedures. Frequent immobility and/or sitting required for extended periods of time.  Some bending and stooping required.  Requires manual dexterity to operate keyboard, calculator, photocopy machine, and other office equipment.  Requires eyesight correctable to 20/20 to read reports and computer terminals.  Requires hearing within normal range for telephone use.  Occasional high stress work.
