Clinical Informaticist, FT80 ~ Patient Care Informatics

SUMMARY Reporting to the Director, Clinical Development & Professional Practice, Nursing Service Admin, this position provides administrative, clinical practice and consultative services to individuals, physicians, departments and agencies that are a part of SAMC, in the use of the electronic medical record and other clinical information systems. The incumbent participates in the assessment of needs pertaining to clinical information systems, including hardware, software, staff development and management support. This role supports care area teams through the training, development and refinement of clinical designs including process flows, order sets, decision support, analytic reporting, documentation templates and online forms.


1. Bachelor's Degree is required. Bachelor's degree in Nursing is preferred.

2. Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of California is required.

3. Demonstrated leadership experience is required.

4. A minimum of two years clinical informatics experience is required.

5. Project management skills with proven success at managing projects are required.

6. Knowledge of and experience with change management, risk management, project planning and team management is required.

7. Excellent organizational, presentation, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills are required.

8. A minimum of three years of broad organizational knowledge is preferred.

9. Clinical Informatics Certification is preferred.
