CARDIOVASCULAR RADIOLOGY TECH

The Cardiac Catheterization Radiology Technologist delivers patient care in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory, under the direction and supervision of the Manager and Medical Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory.  Functions as a cardiovascular radiological technologist and patient caregiver for adult and geriatric patients.  Promotes quality care for patients undergoing invasive diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular and peripheral procedures.  Develops various types of film.  Records and analyzes all types of hemodynamic waveform tracings.  Prepares the lab for all procedures.  Maintains quality control of equipment and procedures.  Reports functional deficiencies.

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology required.  Must be registered by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists.  Current license in the State of Illinois of Nuclear Safety required.  Three years experience in cardiac catheterization laboratory preferred.  Experience in Intra-aortic balloon counter pulsation preferred.  Current certification in CPR required.  ACLS certification required.  Knowledge of basic life threatening arrhythmia’s preferred.
