Billing Specialist, SAMF Administration - Centralized Billing ~ FT

Reporting to the Billing Manager, Administration CBO, this position is primarily responsible for generating billing cycles posting payments and follow-up on claims to ensure timely payment. This position will interact with health insurance carriers and is primarily tasked with accounts receivable functions. The Revenue Specialist will be well-versed in collection practices, have a clear understanding of general requirements, and able to liaison with bad debt vendors when needed. They will have detailed knowledge of the Functions within the Revenue Cycle and how they interact in the life of a patient account. This position is also responsible for providing SAMP patients an understanding of the billing and insurance processing of their healthcare services.

1. High school diploma or GED is required.

2. Two (2) years work experience in a professional billing environment is required.

3. Coding certification is preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:

•Tracking and monitoring of information;

•Excellent customer service and communication skills;

•Strong computer skills and office equipment;

•Familiar with Medicare fraud and abuse issues;

•explaining basic hospital charges, payments, and adjustments,

•Accurate data entry and error correction skills;

•Familiar with Managed Care, Medicare, Medicaid as well as other payment programs;

•Sound understanding of the contractual adjustment system of posting.
