Description:

Under limited supervision, opens and closes department, maintains departmental security during shift, and prepares meals using various cooking methods. Full time and part time positions available with variable shift openings!

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Responsible for opening and closing the department and maintaining departmental security.
Responsible for the financial management of the department.
Follows standardized recipes and HACCP guidelines to ensure proper preparation of food items, meeting food safety and sanitation guidelines.
Provides input on changing and developing menus and recipes to enhance customer satisfaction. May be responsible for menu development.
Prepares meals using batch, large quantity and short order types of cooking
Ability to adjust recipes to meet desired yield needs.
Reads production tally and organizes workload to have food items prepared by the specified deadlines in sufficient quantity. Maintains proper workflow when line cooking.
Maintains equipment and work area by cleaning, organizing and sanitizing throughout the shift using proper cleaning and sanitizing methods. Follows safety and sanitation guidelines as delineated by departmental policies and procedures. Reports equipment deficiencies or maintenance issues as they occur to maintain a safe work environment.
Helps out other employees with training, guidance and support as needed.
Sets up, maintains, and breaks down work area within established time-frames
Responsible for overall food quality as measured by Midnight Meal Service Customer Satisfaction scores.
Communicates with staff, patients, management and other customers regarding food purchases, concerns, quality and equipment.
Operates cash register system for transactions and information into the register system.
Establish or identify prices of goods. Issue receipts, refunds, credits, or change to customers.
Ensures that department supplies are fully stocked and removes trash.
Monitors and documents refrigerator and food temperatures.
Utilizes resources to reduce or eliminate waste.
Follows sanitation and safety guidelines as determined by departmental policies and procedures, and food safety regulations.
Performs other duties as assigned.
